Price, minimum quantity, embroidery vs. print, 3D embroidery, logo format - all in one place.
The 6-panel has its front split by a centre seam and is the most common. The 5-panel has a seamless front - one continuous surface that better suits a larger logo, lettering across the whole front or a patch. For a small logo on the front the difference is negligible, but for a large design we recommend a 5-panel or a snapback with a taller front.
The most common is cotton twill or a cotton-polyester blend, roughly in the 250-330 g/m2 range - stiff enough for the front panel to hold its shape and carry embroidery. A trucker has fabric front panels and a breathable polyester mesh at the back. For summer runs we choose lighter, more breathable variants, and a denser fabric for premium merch.
There are three common types: a plastic snapback closure with studs, a metal slide buckle and a textile hook-and-loop strap. All are adjustable and cover most adult head sizes, so for a team order you usually do not need to worry about sizing. The flexfit model has no closure and stretches; it comes in sizes S/M and L/XL.
For a cap we most often recommend embroidery or 3D embroidery - the stiff front panel keeps it taut, the logo does not fade and it lasts the lifetime of the cap. Screen printing and DTF transfer suit flat, colourful designs and larger runs. 3D embroidery is done only on a structured front; on the soft mesh of a trucker only flat embroidery or a patch will work.
3D embroidery is a technique in which rigid foam is placed under the embroidery threads. The result is a raised, sculptural logo visible even from a distance. It stands out best on structured 5- and 6-panel caps and snapbacks with a taller front. It suits simpler shapes and bolder fonts - very fine detail tends to get blurred by the raised effect.
We recommend washing caps by hand in lukewarm water up to 30 degrees and air-drying them freely, not in a dryer. This keeps the front panel and brim in shape and prevents the embroidery or print from deforming. We advise against machine washing at higher temperatures and ironing directly over the decoration.
