Frequently asked questions about printed cushions
Price, minimum quantity, delivery, embroidery vs. print, logo format - all in one place.
For all-over sublimation we most often use polyester or polyester blends (such as microfibre or cover canvas) with a weight of roughly 150 to 300 g/m2. Polyester is essential so the colour can be fused straight into the fibre. Cotton and linen covers are better suited to embroidery or screen printing of a single-colour logo. We recommend the specific material based on the design and intended use.
Standard decorative cushions are usually square, 40x40 or 45x45 cm, and we can also supply rectangular and larger formats. Travel neck cushions come in a horseshoe (U) shape to support the neck. For larger runs we can also produce shaped cushions cut into the outline of your logo, a heart or a mascot. We adapt both the size and the shape to your brief.
Decorative cushions are usually filled with hollow silicone fibre, which is soft and holds its shape well. Travel neck cushions are filled with microbeads or memory foam that supports the neck. If you already have the filling, we supply just the printed covers.
With sublimation the design is fused into the fibre, so the print will not crack or fade in the wash. We recommend washing zip-on covers gently at a lower temperature (around 30 degrees) and air-drying them rather than using a tumble dryer on high heat. Remove the filling before washing the cover. For the specific material we include care guidance.
Yes, sublimation allows an all-over design that runs across the edge and seam of the cover, so there is no white border left. It is ideal for photos, patterns and colour gradients. Embroidery and screen printing, by contrast, work within a defined area for the logo rather than across the whole cover.
For all-over colour designs, photos and patterns, sublimation or digital printing is clearly the better choice. Logo embroidery is better suited to a premium gift with a simpler design and looks more luxurious, but it does not cover the whole cover and has a higher unit cost. We will advise you based on what you want to put on the cushion.
